Today, once the technical skills have been validated, everything rests on these famous soft skills that have been highlighted in France since 2014 in one book published by Fabrice Mauléon, Julien Bouret and Jérôme Hoarau (Le Réflexe SoftSkills: les compétences des leaders de demain).

Indeed, it is a question of evaluating behavioural, human and transversal talents in a factual and concrete way. All those personal qualities that make an employee effective and capable of achieving team performance.

The Assessment Center evaluation makes it possible to reconstitute a professional context with all its opportunities and constraints: missing figures, different personalities and experiences in the same team, etc.

These professional simulations offer the possibility of deploying certain behaviours expected in the company, according to the situations encountered: self-confidence, creativity, emotional intelligence, etc.

Observation of the behaviours implemented during the various scenarios makes it possible to observe and qualify the dimension being assessed. For two technically equal profiles, it is the personality that makes the difference. With a population of professionals that is increasingly well educated, interpersonal skills and behaviours are more and more important.
 
According to the authors and currents, softskills include about 25 specific abilities, which may be innate or developed according to the personal and professional environment in which the individual evolves.
 
The Assessment Center can be conducted in French as well as in English, as long as the individual being assessed is used to working in the language used. This is why this type of assessment is perfectly suited to multilingual profiles or those working with multicultural teams. Indeed, the ability to manage employees of different origins or cultures.
 
The assessment can also be used to test an employee’s ability to interact in a foreign language or to gauge the potential for adaptation to a new cultural and professional environment, for example when returning from an expatriation.

The objective is to carry out a precise diagnosis of the strengths and areas for improvement of a candidate or employee.
